THE REBEL FRIENDSHIP MEDALS - PLAYER OF THE GAME
A Story About Respect and How Girls’ Hockey Grows
Girls’ hockey is competitive, fast, and intense — and it’s also built on respect, connection, and community.
The Rebel Friendship Medals celebrate those values and help them grow across the province.
WHAT THE MEDALS ARE
There are four Rebel Friendship Medals, one for each age group:
U9 - U11 - U13 - U15.
Each medal travels from player to player, carrying a story as it goes.
They are passed forward, never kept.
HOW THE MEDALS ARE PASSED
After a game, each team selects one player from the opposing team to receive the medal.
Being recognized by the other bench makes the moment meaningful.
The player carries the medal into their next game or moment, then passes it on.
Simple. Honest. Respectful.
WHAT WE CELEBRATE
The medals recognize:
• Effort
• Sportsmanship
• Leadership
• Respect
• Making others better
They shine a light on players whose impact is felt throughout the game.
WHY IT MATTERS
Girls’ hockey grows when players support each other, learn from one another, and compete with respect.
The Rebel Friendship Medals turn those moments into a shared story that connects teams, rinks, and communities.
HOW THE STORY LIVES ON
Each medal has a QR code.
Every pass is logged with a short note, building a living timeline of the medal’s journey across the province.
PASSED WITH RESPECT.
CARRIED WITH PRIDE.
NEVER KEPT.
